Downloading assets and storyboards

StoryTribe offers flexible download options, letting you export individual assets or complete storyboards in multiple formats.

Quick Export

Export any part of your storyboard — characters, props, scenes, or grouped elements — and reuse them in presentations, design mockups, blog posts or social content.

To export storyboard elements:

  1. Select any element or grouped selection in your storyboard (characters, props, scenes, or combinations).
  2. Once selected, the blue contextual menu appears.
  3. Click Download to export the selection as a PNG file.

Note: The exported PNG is generated at 2× the size of the element as it appears on the canvas. To increase the download resolution, simply scale the element up on the canvas before exporting.

UI of download option

Downloading projects

You can download your storyboard using the Download icon in the top right corner of your editor. This option lets you export either individual frames as high-quality images, or your full storyboard as a shareable document.

UI of downloading single and multiple frames

StoryTribe offers two download options:

Single Frame Download

This option is ideal when you need high-resolution exports of each frame, for use in presentations or design work.

  • Export each canvas as a JPG, PNG, or PDF
  • Choose a resolution multiplier (1×–5×) for high-definition output
  • Best for when image quality matters most
  • PDF option allows you to include scripts and annotations in the export.

Multiple Frame Download

This option is best when you want to export the entire storyboard at once, especially if you want to include scripts or annotations and share it with collaborators.

  • Export multiple frames together as a PDF
  • Includes layouts optimised for review and presentation
  • Choose between 3-frame or 6-frame layouts per page
  • 3-frame layout supports exporting with script/annotations.
