How can I see the app language in my own language?

A: If you’re using StoryTribe on a web browser, you can translate the page using your browser’s built-in translation feature. Here’s how:

Google Chrome (Windows/Mac)

Open Chrome and go to the StoryTribe page.

Right-click anywhere on the page.

Click "Translate to [your language]" (e.g., Translate to English).

If no translation option appears, try this:

Click the three-dot menu (⋮) at the top-right.

Go to Settings > Languages.

Enable "Offer to translate pages that aren’t in a language you read."

Safari on Mac

Open Safari and go to the StoryTribe page.

In the address bar, look for the translation icon (a speech bubble with "A" inside).

Click it and select "Translate to [your language]" (e.g., Translate to English).

If it’s your first time using this feature, click "Enable Translation."

Do I need to download the app?

Initially, StoryTribe will be available as a web app for desktop. We are also planning to release iOS and Android versions in the future, so you'll be able to use it on various platforms and devices.

How can I update my payment method or cancel my subscription?

You can easily manage your payment details and subscriptions from your account settings.

To Add, Change, or Remove a Payment Card:

Click on the "Accounts" menu (top-right corner).

Select "Billing".

From there, you can add, update, or remove your payment card details.

To Update or Cancel a Subscription:

Go to the "Accounts" menu.

Click "Billing".

Find your active subscription and choose "Update subscription" or "Cancel subscription".

Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the changes.

Can I use it to animate?

Currently, StoryTribe is focused on professional storyboarding and does not offer animation capabilities. However, we are considering adding animation features in future updates, based on user feedback and demand.

Do you offer a free educational plan?

Yes, we offer education plans primarily through schools, although not to individuals directly. Currently, we are conducting pilot programs with selected schools. As we have already reached capacity for our pilot program, we are not currently accepting new applications. However, if you wish to join the waitlist, please send an email to edu@storytribeapp.com with the following information: Your name, your work email address, phone number, your school's name, your position within the school, intended use cases, and expected number of users.

StoryTribe allows you to export your storyboard in PNG, JPG, and PDF formats. You can also choose from five resolution options: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, and 5x, giving you the flexibility to select the best size for your needs.

StoryTribe currently focuses on flat, forward-facing characters. We are in the process of implementing backward-facing characters, but as of now, varying shot angles like overhead views are not available.

Can I add my own characters?

No, but you can copy and paste your own images into the StoryTribe canvas, including your own characters. We plan to enhance this feature in future updates to provide more flexibility and customisation options for your characters.

Currently, we are running a pilot program for organisations which require a minimum of 20 user accounts. Can I represent characters with dark skin colour?

Currently, we do not offer options to choose a specific colour for the skin. We deliberately made this choice to maintain the simplicity of the illustrations in a line drawing style. However, we will consider adding this option if there is high demand from users. Nonetheless, we do offer hairstyles that represent diverse cultures and plan to introduce more options in the future.

Can I purchase a commercial license to sell the content I create using StoryTribe?

No, a commercial license to sell content created using StoryTribe is not available. StoryTribe illustrations are for personal and internal business use only. However, if you have specific licensing needs, please reach out to us at support@storytribe.com with details such as your name, work email, company name, target audience, use cases, expected number of illustrations, illustration sizes, and any other relevant information for us to review your request.
