Link previews for a published project

This is about the link to a published project. Paste it into a chat, a post or an email and most services turn it into a card showing your project's title, with StoryTribe after it, and the first shot's frame cropped wide. There is no description line, and it looks the same on every service.

Getting a good card

• The first shot is the picture. Every preview uses it, whatever format the page is published in, so make it the frame you would choose as a poster.
• Give the project a real title. The title is the card's headline, so Untitled is what an empty one shows.
• Public and Unlisted both get a card. A link to a project you haven't published gets none, not even the title.
• A first shot with no frame gets no picture. The card falls back to the title on its own.

If the preview is stale

Social services keep their own copy of each card, and our preview image is cached for up to a day. If you changed the first frame or the title and the card has not caught up, wait a day. Most services also have their own tool for refreshing a link preview on demand.

A card made before you unpublished a page can keep showing wherever the link was already posted, even though the page itself is down.
