What's the difference between StoryTribe and traditional film storyboard tools?
Last updated Aug 29, 2026
StoryTribe is built for speed. Traditional storyboarding needs an illustrator or heavyweight software with a long learning curve; StoryTribe gives you customizable characters, scene templates and AI-generated shots in the browser, so a first pass takes an afternoon rather than a week.
It also keeps the whole pre-production record together: the script beside every frame (importable from and exportable to Final Draft and Fountain), shot properties like angle, size and movement, a shot list you can export to Excel, an animatic with music and voice-over, and a shared workspace where the director, DP and producer edit the same board live.
