Updates to AI Credits on StoryTribe 🚀

Moving from daily limits to monthly credits + Top-ups

We’re rolling out an update to how AI credits work on StoryTribe.

Until now, AI usage was managed with daily limits:

• Free users received 3 one-off AI credits
• Pro users received 3 complimentary AI credits per day
• AI Pro users had a daily usage limit

As StoryTribe grows and we introduce more AI models and workflows, this system has started to feel restrictive — especially for users who want flexibility in when and how they use AI.

So we’re making a change.

What’s changing?

• We’re moving from daily AI limits to a monthly credit system, giving you more flexibility in how and when you use AI.
• We’re also introducing more AI models and AI style filters, each with different capabilities. As a result, credit usage now depends on the AI model you choose — more advanced models may use more credits per image.
• Finally, we’ve added a Top-up credit system for paid plans, so Pro and AI Pro users can purchase additional credits whenever they need them.

This means:

• No more “use it or lose it today” pressure
• More flexibility to batch work when you need it
• Clearer control over AI usage and costs

How AI credits work now

1. Monthly credits instead of daily limits

Paid plans now receive monthly AI credits that refresh on your billing date:

• Free: 100 one-off credits
• Pro: 300 credits per month
  (Best for light AI usage alongside Pro features like premium characters and templates)
• AI Pro: 3,000 credits per month
  (Designed for heavy AI usage)

Credits reset monthly and do not roll over.

2. Credits are flexible across AI models

AI credits are used per image generation, and the number of credits required depends on the AI model you choose.

For example:

• Nano Banana – 10 credits per image
• Nano Banana Pro – 40 credits per image
• GPT-Image 1.5 – 35 credits per image

You’ll always see the credit cost before generating, so there are no surprises.

3. Introducing Top-up credits (Paid plans only)

If you need more credits before your next reset, you can now Top-up.

Available to Pro and AI Pro users:

• Pro: $30 for 3,500 credits
• AI Pro: $30 for 4,200 credits (Get 20% more than Pro plans)

Top-up credits:

• Do not expire as long as your paid plan subscription is active
• Are used only after your monthly credits are exhausted

Free plan users must upgrade to access Top-ups.

Why we’re making this change

This update helps us:

• Support more AI models and higher-quality generation
• Give users flexibility instead of daily pressure
• Keep AI usage fair, predictable, and scalable
